Program
Celebrating Black History month, PASO pays tribute to American jazz composers with a performance of two works by Duke Ellington: the third movement of Three Black Kings which he dedicated to Dr. Martin Luther King and The Nutcracker Suite, Ellington’s reimagining of the Tchaikovsky Christmas classic. The second half of the show presents a parade of popular American jazz standards complimented by the smooth baritone of acclaimed jazz singer, Caesar, whose style is often likened to that of Nat King Cole.
