Now that you've seen a Millennium Stage performance, we'd love to hear what you think. Fill in your name and comments to post a note in our guestbook.

I have performed on the Millenium Stage before, and will be performing there once more on March 15, 2003, during the Music in our Schools Month. It was one of the best experiences of my life, hearing the incredible sound of my choir blasting over the microphones and having an audience stretching down the whole hallway watching us. I can't wait to perform there in a couple weeks. Being invited back is an extreme honor for me.
Jonathan Hoffman, Fredericsburg

I HAVE SEEN THE ATERCIOPELADOS PERFORMANCE, AND I REALLY ENJOYED IT. THEY ARE AWESOME!! CONGRATULATIONS KENNEDY CENTER, STILL BRINGING GOOD BANDS FROM COLOMBIA AND LATIN AMERICA.
JAMES M .N., Germantown, M.D.

I saw Ensemble Tartit, a group from Mali, West Africa, for the first time at the millenium stage and was taken away by their rhythmic percussion and high octaves!! They were hypnotizing with their drums and smooth voices almost calling my soul to jump out and dance! They are an excellent musical group and shortly after the concert I ran out and bought their CD and convinced 3 of my friends to do the same! Thanks for bringing such great music to the D.C area for free and keep it up because you efforts are definitely recognized and appreciated:)
Global Child, D.C.

The best performance and everyone loved matt
May F., Milington

Just saw Bob Hillman as half of a 'Writer's Night' on the Millennium Stage. He deserves a whole hour; have him back as soon as you can!
Steve Bogart,VA

The performances are all extremely well done, and the Center represents so much of what's good with our country.

Let us never forget that the facility is named "The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts" and the inspiration for this beautiful and culturally rewarding place was the late president. His love of the arts is well served, as is his memory, by the Center. I am so very proud that it exists, and hope that it continues to pursue such excellence. Thank you!
James Stock, Las Vegas NV

I was recently in D.C. for a school trip, and really enjoyed the Watterson:Carthy performance. When I got home, I played several of the other archived performances, and have decided to listen to the latest performances as much as possible.

I truly enjoyed the presentation by Chesapeake on the Millenium Stage in September. The effervescent, soulfull sound of their music really made me appreciate what Fannie Mae and the Washington Post are doing to promote the arts in Washington, DC. Once again, thanks to all for bringing the arts to everyone on the Potomac.

Subject: DALLAS CHIEF EAGLE
From: John Mann
Date: 8/5/99 11:26 AM

THIS LETTER COMES TO YOU AS A THANK YOU AND PRAISES TO THE KENNEDY CENTER AND FANNIE MAE FOR HAVING THE MILLENNIUM STAGE SERIES OF PERFORMERS FOR THE PUBLIC. AND THANK YOU ESPECIALLY FOR INVITING "DALLAS CHIEF EAGLE" AND "CLEMENT HOLY EAGLE" TO PERFORM. PLEASE! BE SURE TO INVITE THEM BACK VERY SOON! TO BE VERY HONEST I WAS DISAPPOINTED AND LET DOWN THAT THEY WERE UNAVOIDABLY DETAINED AND UNABLE TO PERFORM. I WAS DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE I KNOW THAT THE CHILDREN (and the child in me) WOULD HAVE LOVED TO REVEL IN THE MYSTIQUE OF THE SOUNDS AND RHYTHMS OF NATIVE AMERICAN INDIANS FEATURING THE LAKOTA HOOP DANCE, "NURTURING THE TREE OF LIFE". I WAS SO LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING THEIR BRIGHT AND COLORFUL COSTUMES AND JEWELRY WHICH ARE A PAGENTRY IN THEMSELVES. AND AFTER A HARD DAY'S WORK IT WOULD HAVE JUST LIFTED EVERYONE'S SPIRITS TO BE ABLE TO BASK IN NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN CULTURE AND VISIT WITH OUR IMAGINATION, EVEN IF FOR JUST AN HOUR, A VERY DIFFERENT LAND WITH IT'S OWN BEAT, STYLE, RHYTHM AND JOY OF MOTION!

* * * * * * PLEASE ! PLEASE ! PLEASE ! * * * * * * *
REINVITE THEM BACK FOR A PERFORMANCE
REAL SOON! FOR KIDS SAKE !

I'm very excited to find this website, because I performed on the Millenium Stage in the Kennedy Arts Center last year. I performed on May 29, 1998 with a show choir. We were the first high school group to ever perform on the stage as a professional group. Our entire show was around one hour. We were broadcasted across the united states. It was a huge honor and an experience I'll never forget. Not only did we perform here, but also infront of the Capitol Building where the president gives his inaguration speech, inside the capitol rotunda, in the senate rotunda, and in the Washington Cathedral. It was a blast and an experience I'll never forget.

I've enjoyed this website's guestbook. I am looking forward to seeing Marcus Johnson perform on the Millenium stage (I missed his previous performances there). I am a fellow musician/pianist and instructor in the Washington metro area. My company CREATIVE MUSIC MELODIES COMPANY, is looking for great musicians to work with on special projects. Also, those interested in launching a recording career. You can send an e-mail message to jones61@bellatlantic.net.
Ms. Jones, Creative Music Melodies Company, USA

It was an unexpected and thoroughly enjoyable privilege to DJ between Joe Lovano + his band on Sunday May 16. I was especially pleased that such a diverse mix of people stayed during the intermissions to here me spin.

I know many in the audience didn't know what to make of my brand of JazzStep Drum + Base, but it was really encouraging to see so much acceptance of what I see as (part of ) the future of the avant garde.

I don't know if I am the first performer to introduce DJing to The Kennedy Center as a legitamate art form but It was definitely a first for me and I'm still buzzing from it.

Although I have friends who came to witness it, I don't know if anyone else would believe me. I wish I had remembered to bring a camera, since there is no mention/listing of it on this site. If any of the documentors have any photos or realvideo of my performance, I would be very happy to see something posted or sent to me for nostalgia (my folks and all)...

Thanks So Much,

Hi, everyone. I would just like to say that I think the Kennedy Center is an awesome place to be. I was just blessed to have been able to perform there at the Festival Of Gold with my high school chorale. We were there on Mon., May 3, and I have never participated in anything quite like it. And I don't mean the Millenium stage, I mean THE stage. You know, the one that seats, like, 6 or 7 thousand people. Least to say, it was an incredible experince. If anyone who reads this was there, please contact me to share your thoughts. Thanks.
