Each year, the Washington Post praises the NSO's fresh perspective on Handel's epic masterpiece, hailing past performances as "radiantly cheerful" with an "exuberant Hallelujah Chorus." This year, guest conductor Rossen Milanov leads the NSO with soprano Elza van den Heever, contralto Meredith Arwady, tenor Jason Collins, bass-baritone Eric Owens, and The Washington Chorus in this uplifting work. The Orchestra will play the large-scale, epic Beecham/Goossens orchestration, prepared exactly fifty years ago for Sir Thomas Beecham's (now very famous) recording. Program:
