International Cultural Fellows Mentoring Program
Program Description
The US Department of State and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts are offering professional development opportunities to 8 arts management professionals between the ages 25-35 from selected countries. This program will be three weeks and will include one week of practical mentorship experience.
Purpose
The purpose of this program is to offer professional development opportunities to individuals working in the field of arts management. The arts management fellows will participate in the following activities during their program:
- Attend orientation and participate in classes on planning, fundraising, marketing and etc. at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
- Undertake a practical mentorship in another U.S. city based on the management experience of each visitor.
- Visit New York City to participate in meetings with key cultural institutions.
The goal of the International Cultural Exchange Fellows Mentoring Program is to further develop arts management skills in strategic planning, development, and marketing, and to provide cross-cultural understanding internationally.
Participant Profile
The Kennedy Center is looking for individuals working in the field of arts management who are seeking to improve their management skills. These participants should be between the ages of 25 and 35.

Program Dates and Application Deadline
This program will run in March/April of 2009. The application deadline for this program is October 15, 2008.
