About the Program
Part of the Kennedy Center "250 Years of Mozart" celebrationHusband-and-wife pianists Misha and Cipa Dichter met at The Juilliard School and made their first joint appearance in 1972. For more than 30 years, the Dichters have offered performances "cleverly arranged, immaculately executed, and deeply impressive" (The Los Angeles Times), bringing to the stage many previously neglected works of the two-piano and piano-four-hand repertoires. Widely regarded for their "remarkable unanimity of phrasing and virtuosic command" (The Chicago Tribune), the duo not only showcases "the synchronism of their musical impulses, but also the vigor and elegance of the execution" (The New York Times). In the Terrace Theater, the Dichters display their magnificent partnership in works by Mozart, Rachmaninoff, Shostakovich, and Arensky. Program:
| MOZART - Sonata in F major for one piano four-hands, K 497 | |
| MOZART - Fantasia for Musical Clockwork for 2 pianos | |
